• The starting time of Marathon for Beijing 2008 Olympics was released. (Apr 6th)
• The tickets for Beijing Olympic Games began to be sold to Chinese citizens. (Apr 15)
• The torch design for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games was unveiled and the torch relay planned route was launched. (Apr 26)

2006:

• 28 major and 302 minor competition items in Beijing 2008 Olympics were fixed. (Apr 29th)
• Accompanied by Liu Qi, president of BOCOG, Kofi Annam UN Secretary-General visited the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and gave high praise to its design and construction work. (May 23rd)
• Pictograms of Beijing Olympics with the name of 'the beauty of seal characters' and composed of 35 sport icons was released. (Aug 7th)
• The recruitment drive for volunteers of Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games was officially launched. (Aug 28th)
• The Official Mascot of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games - Fu Niu Lele - was unveiled. (Sep 6th)
• Ticket price for Beijing Olympics was unveiled. (Nov 29th )
• 'The Regulations on Reporting Activities in China by Foreign Journalists during the Beijing Olympic Games and the Preparatory Period' was promulgated. (Dec 1st)

   Beijing Olympic Mascot: Fuwa Yingying, the Tibet antelope wishes everyone healthy.

2005:

• Volunteers Symbol of Beijing Olympics was released. (Jun 5th)
• Theme Slogan of Beijing Olympics - One World One Dream - was released officially. (Jun 26th)
• Olympic Village began to be constructed. (Jun 26th)
• Construction began on the Olympic Forest Park. (Jun 30th)
• IOC declared that the equestrianism competition during Beijing Olympic Games was to be held in Hong Kong. (Jul 8th)
• The weather website for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games was officially opened. (Aug 8th)
• The Beijing Olympic Games Environmental Symbol was released. (Sep 24th)
• The Olympic Mascot (Fuwa) of Beijing Olympic Games was released. (Nov 11th)

2004:

• Building work commenced on the Qingdao International Sailing Center. (May 25th)
• The Second Olympic Cultural Festival was held by BOCOG. (Jun 23 rd - Jul 13th)
• The emblem of Beijing 2008 Paralympics - Sky, Earth and Human Beings - was unveiled in Beijing. (Jul 13th)
• Jacques Rogge, IOC president handed over the Olympic flag to Mr. Wang Qishan, Mayor of Bejing and BOCOG Executive President at the closing ceremony of Athens 2004 Olympic Games. (Aug 29th)
• The Olympic count-down clock was erected and began to count-down the time in Tian'anmen Square, Beijing. (Sep 21st)
• Beijing Olympic News Center was set up. (Nov 1st)

2003:

• The Sailing Committee (Qingdao) of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad was set up in Qingdao. (Jun 11th)
• Olympic Emblem (Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing) was unveiled at the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest (Qiniandian) of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. (Aug 3rd)
• The 1st Olympic Cultural Festival was held in Beijing. (Sep 21st - 29th)
• The main stadium for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games - The National Stadium - began to be constructed. Up to Oct 18th 2005, another 11 Olympic Venues for the Olympics including the National Aquatics Center (NAC), the Beijing Shooting Range Hall (BSH) and Wukesong Indoor Stadium etc. all have commenced construction. (Dec)

2002:

• The Science and Technology Committee for the 29th Olympic Games was set up. (Jun 7th)
• Beijing Olympic Games Action Plan constituted by Beijing Municipal Government and BOCOG was released. At the same time, the Two Themes (New Beijing, Great Olympics) and Three Concepts (Green Olympics, High-tech Olympics and People's Olympics) were designated. (Jul 13th)

2001:

• Beijing won the right to host the 29th Olympic Games on the 112th full meeting of IOC in Moscow. (Jul 13th)
• Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) was officially established. (Dec 13th)
